Ran’s work blends acoustic and electronic sounds, with a distinctive focus on groove and improvisation, drawing from Afrobeat, Ethiopian, Gnawa, Mediterranean music and jazz.
Since 2018, he has also pioneered soundscape projects, collaborating with practitioners of dance, yoga, meditation, and breathwork to provide live soundscapes for large group practices.
Ran holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Double Bass Performance from The Rubin Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem, where he studied with Maestro Dr. Michael Klinghoffer. He has also pursued studies with prominent artists Ben Street and William Parker and has studied counterpoint with Judith Berkson.
